Wow, they are working quickly! How was the pizza? I hope they have good prices; I do drive down to the HAAM ministry store in old Humble, as pristine hardbacks with dust covers are $2, and paperbacks are $1. I do love a good book store, though, thanks for the info!

Joe :Never heard of it....What's the business about?....New, used, both?....Buy, sale, trade?....Like a Barnes and Nobel or a Half-Priced books or a "hybrid" of the two?...

New books, a Barnes & Noble alternative. Feels a little more casual than Barnes & Noble. By coincidence, I went to the Books-a-million at the Katy Mills mall just this past weekend.

I drove by the Trader Joe's going in at the old front Randalls. They are well on their way in setting the store fixtures. Lots of work is going on in the building. It will be interesting to see if they get open in December.

ZMAN : Agree -- I look for good used books. I prefer to hold and read "real" books. Some of my very best books came from Clearance shelves at Half Price Books. I remember when Clearance books there were 25 cents each -- really! But I've used the library my entire life -- no cost at all with the library. These days in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, the library sends its cheerful Bookmobile with several librarians right into my home driveway with books I've requested. They pick up my books to return and they renew books I'm not ready to return. For my grandchildren's birthdays, though, I do choose new books and let Amazon send those gifts to my grandchildren.

I really hope they make it. I love reading books.

I've always been an avid reader @ remember walking to the bookmobile & walking away with as many books as I could carry! The librarian questioned whether I would be able to read them all, & never questioned me again when a week later, I returned them all & carried away another large pile.❤️
