Unfortunately, on the other side of the bridge you're not in COH even though it's technically considered Kingwood.

Best Trash really had to deal with our BS after cleaning out the fridge last week. I can't complain about them right now lol it was that bad!

cbear : Paid for by your tax dollars. That's why anyone in KW is eligible except the HOA can decide to get a stipend from COH for NOT using them. Then the HOA hire a private trash company and you pay extra for that private pick up.

cbear : Yes- as you pay for it in your taxes. What many don't understand - the COH services are non existent out in Kingwood since we were annexed. They take the money and provide no services.
Move in a van down by the river
You can throw your rubbish wherever.

Im guessing the HOAs get kickback for using "Best Trash" and others, Total scam.
HOAs do not get a kickback. To even imply that is borderline defamatory. The way it works in MBV is that COH reimburses the community $6/month for each home each month. It amounts to ~$7,200. That ~$7,200 is then sent to the private hauler, in MBV's case Best Trash. This helps offset the quarterly cost per home. I have fought with COH Solid Waste Department about the amount of their reimbursement. It should be about $20/month, not $6/month.
So, NO, the HOA in MBV at least DOES NOT POCKET THE MONEY.
COH has serious issues with reliability, picks up garbage once a week and recycling every other week. COH's bulk pickup is almost non-existent, ask the residents of Elm Grove who waited months.
Best Trash (and Waste Management before them) has been incredibly reliable. They pick up garbage twice a week and recycling weekly. You can leave out large items most any time.
