Best trash rate increase

Jamescook : The alternative would be to have COH garbage service which is one time a week and you have to call in to have your large garbage picked up. They are so back logged with large trash pick up. It took them 5 months to pick up at my friends house in Forest Cove. Believe me, $105 is not a bad deal for the great service you receive from Best Trash.

Sadly, I think they are the only option for our village. I really liked waste management better.

COH trash is not the best alternative. They no longer pick up heavy trash and have 1 time a week pick up. Anything COH does is never done. Our medians should be maintained by COH and those are only mowed every 6 weeks and the villages have to pay to mow those. Best Trash picks up 2X a week and takes heavy trash and recycles.

I know it is free, however you might be the only one in the neighborhood it works for. Everyone always complains - more homeowner's need to attend meetings to see the Why to this question.

I believe the only alternative is the City of Houston Waste Services. We had them when we lived in Sherwood Trails and they were fine, never had any complaints.
The rate increase for Best Trash is a bit annoying, but their customer service is good, and I like the convenience of having trash pick up twice a week.

Jamescook : If you are in an area with an HOA, they decide what company is selected for trash unless they selected. COH which is free bc the city annexed Kingwood some years ago and they pick up trash free of charge. But the HOA's can contract with the city to get a kick back from every lot in the subdivision if they DON'T use COH. So if you have the private trash pick up, only the HOA can change companies.

Aggie89 : I would agree. My DD has them and has had alot of issues. I do miss WM though.
