Beautiful Mother's Day Brunch @ Raffa's
Always a full house for holiday brunch. We were able to get the beautiful window table overlooking the patio and water, again. It has become my second favorite spot in the main dining room. Everything was so fresh and delicious, with wonderful, friendly service in every corner of the place. I started with my favorites, which are the salmon, prime rib, jumbo shrimp and baked Brie. As usual, I didn't come close to getting some of everything I wanted, and missed plenty. They had a new twist on the salmon this time around, and served a beautiful Mediterranean salmon, which combines two of my favorite Raffa's menu items - salmon and Mediterranean chicken, which is topped with capers, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives. The prime rib was outstanding as usual, with fresh homemade horseradish sauce. They also had beautiful pork belly with Kirsch cherries, which was fresh, very tender and delicious! As beautiful as the desserts were, I opted for another long-time favorite, instead, which is the cappuccino. Nobody makes it better than Tony. In an earlier post, when I said they have the brunch buffet for Easter and Mother's Day, I failed to include Father's Day. I can't wait to see what they do with the salmon then. It would be hard to pick between the piccata or Mediterranean versions, because they are both wonderful. I wish I had left room for the desserts because they were beautiful, as always, and I'm sure very delicious. Next time I might split the cappuccino and mini desserts with DH, so I don't have to miss as much. It was a wonderful splurge but will definitely be a one meal only kind of day.

Desert first please. You can have the salmon, prime rib, and shrimp.

I totally agree. Always eat desert first. Here's my logic. I am always going to eat dessert. Other things I might not eat if I am full.
