No Bananas!
No Bananas! I went to the Little Kroger today to pick up a few items and of all the things to have run out of, they were out of bananas. Totally wiped out! It was about 4 this afternoon. They were a little busier than usual and had extra lanes open for checkout. It was not half bad at Kroger! So, I decided to go on over the HEB at KWD and WLHP to get bananas, milk, bread, and some other stuff. I thought they would be packed but it was not any busier than usual. Now I've got every possible meal covered for the entire week. I should not have to shop for a while. Oh, I also went to Costco for veggies. I went over where the TP and water are and guess what? They were out of TP and most of the water was gone.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : We were at Kroger on North Park and 59 n Wednesday morning. They were low on bananas then; perhaps it is just Kroger as there were plenty of bananas at Aldi's that afternoon.

bigcity : They can be constipating if you eat them when they are not quite ripe enough. Otherwise they are not! In the picture the most speckled banana is the best banana for you.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Oh, I should've read a forum before going to the store. I am going to head to HEB I hope they have bananas. Kroger employee just told me that there will not be any trucks coming for a few days due to the weather they will not be able to get to the store. This never occurred to me.
Wingsofwonder : I hope you get bananas. They had a lot yesterday at HEB. I'm glad I got some cause I want to bake while it is so cold. Banana nut bread just seems to be the perfect treat to me.

From what I've heard, MANY species of bananas have succombed to a blight over the past several decades, and the bananas we eat today are a different variety than that of the past because the old ones simply don't exist anymore. Supposedly, the rest of the varieties are in danger as well and it's not impossible that bananas may go extinct altogether during our lifetimes.
