Bad chicken from Northpark HEB? I went to the grocery and got some chicken breasts and a few days later I opened them to cook them and they were rancid. Still in date though! I took them back to HEB and got them replaced, I even bought a different brand. I got home and those smelled off too! I talked to my BIL and Cousin about the experience and both of them told me they had the same issue recently. Just curious if others have had this problem and also wanted to make people aware! Definitely disrupted my dinner plans twice!

Cant say this has ever happened to me. I have gotten some off texture chicken before, which is why I try to get the smaller less growth hormone chicken.

Maybe. They had problems with refrigeration units.🤷♀️
We've had it happen to us a couple of times.

I have gotten a few things that were "off" but from the Town Center location. It is frustrating, trust me I know, but it happens (most likely when people leave it out, it gets off temperature and it somehow makes it back on the shelf.) I am glad HEB makes it right though.

I bought some chicken thighs to cook tonight so hopefully this was just a weird one off situation. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same experience.

I always check dates, only buy organic, and now air chilled since Sprouts carries it. At HEB it's either air chilled OR organic, could never find both in same packaging like Sprouts. So far Sprouts hasnt been a problem. Haven't bought bad chicken from HEB either.

Got a bad lemon yesterday. Fortunately only fifty cents. Ended up using my lemon juice instead of fresh lemon.
We dont buy meat or chicken at HEB. Been more than once that there were bad spots, smells, etc from meat. I take it back, and most likely have my receipt, and get my money back, but just don't want to deal with Why it happens so often, at HEB.
Ive gotten more bad product from them over the last year or so than ever before. Also seems their product that has self sealing closings the sealer is often effed up. Hate when they knock off then drop good products from other vendors and then offer same in smaller qty for same or higher price.

Grody. Did they give your money back? I don't think I've bought any chicken recently. I hope you didn't eat any and are sick now.
