Attention KW Birders: Rescued A Hummingbird She laid there on deck, not moving. I figured she was being chased and hit the window. She was stunned. So, I put her in dark ventilated box. An hour later, she drank a little from the syringe and flapped her wings a few times, but was still very weak and it was getting dark. So I placed her in a dark and quiet area of the house overnight. This morning, she did not immediately fly away. I gave her a little more sugar water, she started her engine flew up level to my face, hovers looking at me for a second, then turned and flys off to the trees. 😊

Lantern : Awww! So glad it's OK! We had a beautiful woodpecker hit our window last week. I was so sad. It was stunned but flew off after about 45 minutes. I was so happy that he was OK!
Zakangel : Thanks. I can have as many as 20 hummers at one time. The males become a king to their feeder and chase the females away. They are fast and all fighting to fuel up for the journey south.
