Heathur : We have a boil once a year and ended up investing in one that holds a bag as well as all the fixings. Something like this one. It makes it easier for a group but if it's just you and DH then definitely a smaller one.

KanKan : Oh it's sooo nice! Did you get it at academy or something? For our first boiler it would probably be smaller. DD eats them but not like we do so it would mostly just be the two of us. I'm not sure we'd physically cook them once a week bc going to get them was a little date night treat for us. Especially depending on prices. Maybe bi-weekly, thoug? I dunno. That's a nice boiler! FYI… I've heard that down in the swamps they use chipper shredders to send cattle parts through to feed crawfish ponds. In addition to the meal pellets to get them well fed.

Heathur : Yes, we got it at Academy a few years ago. When DS first started doing the boils, we just had the pot to boil them in. The pot and the number of people attending both went up. lol. We usually do 3-4 bags of crawfish. The big pot makes it so much easier.
