Anyone missing this sweet lady?
A quick update on the sweet lady Sassy (yes, we named her; don't judge): I've been informed she belongs to a man who lives down Sorters Rd. from the college, and that she is often out roaming, and often at the college. I've never seen her, but it sounds like maybe she previously was hanging out in a different area. So, now I'm conflicted -- she has a home to go to, but I'm a little "in my feels" about what kind of care she's receiving there. Dognapping is never the answer, though, so I'm still putting out the water and food in case she needs it over the holiday weekend, and I'll work with some of my campus folks to see if I can help get her back to her owner.
IsisVale : It may be wrong but once I know someone habitually lets there dogs run free... I have no problem finding them a better home....

IsisVale : it's better to find her a new home. Someone that will take her in their house and make sure they have a fenced yard . Because she's going to keep getting out until she gets ran over. The owner has no concern about her. Thank you so much for stepping up for her. She deserves better. Fireworks will start probably tomorrow night or the night after but she needs to know she safe.
UPDATE #2: I've gotten additional info that suggests sweet Sassy is effectively abandoned. I was told that animal control was on campus Wednesday afternoon but failed to catch her, so if she's still around Monday, be prepared for a full out campaign to find her a loving home. ?
Rescues contacted so far are full and can't take her. I left a gravity fed water dispenser and food for her so she'd have it over the weekend, and I'll happily donate it, the food bowl, and the food and treats from Pet Ranch to anyone willing to give her a good home. If I had a fence and a home that was ready to receive her, she'd be home with me already, but I don't, so she isn't. Surely someone can love on this sweet girl? I may pop up there Saturday when the campus reopens to check on her if my body cooperates (autoimmune issues), so if anyone is looking for a companion who is incredibly sweet and well mannered but a bit skittish and afraid, and in need of some TLC, hit me up, and I'll be happy to introduce you!

GoldenGirl : I agree. But the irresponsible owner usually just gets another dog and the cycle begins all over.
