I think she is cool. I see her at my nail salon. I like to imagine what people do for a living. What I imagine. Cool corporate person potentially in fashion, publicist, talent agent. Interject successful. Whatever the case be I think she is comfortable in her own skin and has been for a long time. Love her confidence!

This thread makes us look very small town-ish and sheltered. I just returned from NYC where unique style is very common and doesn't raise so much as an eyebrow. Often, the person is a creative - in the arts, an actor , chef, writer, artist, etc. and embracing their style.
This lovely woman has been in our community for many years. I used to see her at the old HEB all the time and she chatted with employees like a dear friend.
I saw her recently at Home goods at the fine jewelry counter. I was waiting to see a piece of jewelry myself and as only one clerk was working the counter I waited my turn and overheard the conversations between her and the clerk. She had several pieces selected and was chatting about France and other places that I believe she said she had lived in. I could tell that she had lived an interesting life and was very well travelled.
After she decided on her purchases and left, the clerk apologized for my wait. I told her that the woman was so charming and interesting that I did I mind the wait at all. She told me that she is a frequent customer at the jewelry counter .
Not only is her hair uniquely her, her clothing is usually just as artistic and unique. So refreshing to see such individuality- especially in a woman of "a certain age". She would be right at home strolling along the Left Bank in Paris.
I would be mortified if my style was the topic cof conversation here, let alone my picture - front, back, or sideways! (Although I am just plain vanilla, I'm afraid and would not get a 2bd glance ).
Once upon a time we didn't have cell phone cameras to capture private citizens going about their business. She wasn't committing a crime or looking for attention. This is who she is and has been for at least the 2 decades that I can recall . If you wish discuss how someone is dressed or how they style their hair or any other personal detail of their life it can be done without taking a photo without their knowledge or consent.
Just because she is uniquely and unapologetically herself should not make her fodder for small minded community gossip.

#msg5985767JCajun : There was a lady who worked at Steinmart several years ago who wore a similar hairstyle, but her hair was dark. She was very slender, elegant and chic. I admired her chutzpah. She was quite nice, too. I admit I wondered how she got her hair to stay like that, but I'm hair illiterate.
I knew some one back in the early punk scene that used to use egg whites or a gelatin mix. People used to raid the kitchen for DIY styling products back then. 😁

Well alright! Pro wigs! I never thought about them until my hair was so thin in front that I had no choice.

Perfectly said.
When I moved to kingwood and went to the library for the first time, some ancient broad told me to lose my New York attitude. I say never. I am not a clone. I am a one of kind unique individual. An enigma, there's not one way to figure me out.
I used to dress for myself. People would ask what event I was going to? Nowhere, this is how I feel today. And your right about the world outside the bubble. It's full of individual creative humans. Rather than judge, (especially on the internet), maybe try and engage by saying hello. Well, I need to go and get ready to see my friend from Sweden. Met him last summer at our hotel. He's texted merry Christmas, hey I'm ready to travel and would love to connect. It all started with a hello, how are you today. Have a blessed day, err evening.

I've seen her around a few times. Usually at HEB and I don't go there often.

It's a conversation piece-attention grabber. Isn't that what she wants? 🤷♀️ More power to her! To each his own! I have seen her many times. I do not have time nor the patience to get my hair to style like that. I am 10-15 minutes…Done and good enough! I would like to try it just to see but would probably burn it off and be bald. I assume straight iron and LOTS of hard spray. I have thin hair as it is. If I do it, I'll send pics. ❤️😇
