This is a nightmare for everyone involved. The focus should not be on assigning blame but rather on how to prevent this from happening again. 4951

Just about every child in Humble ISD knew this was the place to get alcohol as reported in the news. This is apparently something that has been known throughout several graduating classes.

I don't buy into that. I know a cpl Atascocita HSers that never heard that and should be in the know on that kinda stuff. I know I've been in there and watched him turn down customers that were probably old enough but didn't have ID. Guess will see how his court case turns out before accusing him of being the under age beer seller in the area. 4951

cador : Not necessarily him, as I don't know how long that specific clerk has been there; however, that location was the go-to spot. I also believe this wasn't their first infraction for selling to minors... I could be wrong.

However, my oldest boy was an AHS student when this incident took place. He was taught by one of the girl's father, great teacher and mentor. That's what the word was on the street amongst students and parents. It was also stated in the news by people that were interviewed. Everyone that's ever gone to HS has "the go-to spot" to get things they shouldn't have. So, I have no reason to believe otherwise.

Likewise, I've been in there as well. It was extremely sketchy looking at night. I went to ask the guy behind the counter a question, "Hey, do you know... " and ole boy that got arrested took off to the back. I looked at the clerk and asked WTH was that all about and he just shrugged with a smile. Five months later this whole Jagger thing transpired. Like you said though, we'll see what's what when everyone has their day of judgement in court. 4951

cador : Lame is not realizing that they also made the choice to get in the car knowing the situation. All three made poor choices that night and all three are paying for it. Some with loss of life and one with the burden of carrying the deaths of two young girls for the rest of his life. No one is getting a out of this easy. 4951

@dferguson339 :
But your statement doesn't make any sense, putting blame on the passengers as it wasn't them. It was Jagger, and Jagger only responsible for the folks in his vehicle, that's the law.
I could of been a model, but I'm not. Could of, just another lame excuse for the driver, the passengers had no fault in this, that's just ludicrous! 4951

You think his friends should be charged, and the charges against Jagger should be dropped? 4951

I am not about to read 13 pages of this crap, but if I had to guess, I would venture to say that Jagger is doing a lot better than his victims. 4951

cador : He takes full responsibility for everything that happened that night since he was fully sober. I don't take any responsibility for what happened considering the fact that I was in no way related to this situation. He deeply feels sorry and wishes he could go back to that day and stopped all of it from happening. He always tells me "I'm so sorry for everything that happened that day. I wish I could've been a smarter person then. If I could, I would go back to that day and stop everything that happened. I should've died in that crash, not them. I would trade my life for both of them to be here. I never thought this would happen to me, and I sure hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. I wouldn't wish it upon any of my enemies, nor anyone that hates me for what I did. I completely understand and don't disagree with everyone that hates me, and thinks I shouldn't be here today. I cannot explain how deeply sorry I am for what I did and I don't expect anyone to ever forgive me." 4951

HunterTh : So you're now saying he wasn't strong enough to say "No" to them? That's ridiculous. No one forced him to drink. He did the crime he will soon do the time. It's the way life works. We are each responsible for what we do. Doesn't matter how much the two girls drank they weren't driving. It only matters that he did drink and he did drive. He's solely responsible for getting behind the wheel of that car. I hope you and your friends realize this and learn from this. May those 2 girls RIP. Shame on you for trying to put any blame on those 2 girls. 4951
