Does ANYONE know of any creeks anywhere near Kingwood even if it's a 30-45 min drive, hell even an hour drive? I partially grew up in Florida where they had creeks running everywhere and I want to take my dogs somewhere like it. TIA ♥️
marie17 : I'd be leery of any body of water in TX, be it a bayou, creek, or stream, and letting dogs swim. There's so many snakes and even gators, I wouldn't risk it. If you don't mind driving an hour, I'd just take them to the beach. Try Galveston.

marie17 : There's an area inside Lake Houston Wilderness Park where a footbridge crosses Peach Creek. A short path heads down to the creek where there is a beach and creek access. There is rarely anyone there. You and your dog would probably enjoy that. There is a very small charge to get into the park. The attendant at the entry gate can easily tell you how to get to the area I described to you.

marie17 : Wherever you end up going be careful letting your pup off leash. You need to watch out for alligators and other wildlife out there. Once an alligator has your pup you will not be able to get it back.

luannski : There is a lot to be concerned about when you let your dog off leash. Including the person who carries protection. It is best to keep pets on leash. We do have coyotes and they are wild animals and mean. A domesticated dog does not stand a chance against them.

marie17 : Lake Houston State Park has awesome creeks!!! Its like 30 minutes north of here!

Govchance : I suppose. All I know is any dog I have ever owned would not fair well. I have never had a rottweiler! Dogs under 35 pounds is what I usually have. « Back to Chat
