Does ANYONE know of any creeks anywhere near Kingwood even if it

a creek here is often called a bayou.
There is a new trail that runs between Humble and over to I45 area. I think you can pick it up on the access road in Humbe - where you see all the cars parked just south of the river. There are also several others around. Not sure if dogs running loose are allowed.

Caney Creek, Spring Creek... I'm sure there are others. Heck, when we are short of rain, parts of the San Jacinto are little better than Creeks. You might try Jesse Jones Park. You could also head to some of the bayous. I think those are more accessible for recreating in many cases. I'm not sure how accessible the actual creeks are.

I would try off 99 in spring at Pundt Park and a few areas that way. There are strict leash laws in Harris County not so much in MOCO and you may have better luck w letting the dog run. Be sure to take bug spray.

Please keep dogs leashed in Pundt Park. There are equestrian trails there. Nothing worse than an unleashed dog charging your horse.

marie17 : There's an area inside Lake Houston Wilderness Park where a footbridge crosses Peach Creek. A short path heads down to the creek where there is a beach and creek access. There is rarely anyone there. You and your dog would probably enjoy that. There is a very small charge to get into the park. The attendant at the entry gate can easily tell you how to get to the area I described to you.

I went to Peach Creek years ago and remember how nice and peaceful it was. I wanted to get a lawn chair and sit in the creek with a cold drink.

Govchance: my dad took my there all the time as a kid but they just have that "beach" and it's real suspicious. Unless there’s trails that lead to smaller water streams there

marie17: that beach is on Spring Creek. There is a trail that runs from the parking lot to the creek.

Do keep an eye out for the critters who live in our waterways; my son loves to kayak, but leaves his dog at home, as there are alligators living in the waters, here.
