billcherie2: What? So 4 cars wouldn't stop instead of one? I mean there are so many mangled car parts littering that 'intersection' and the weeds were recently mowed so visibility shouldn't be a problem. You really need to be careful gauging the speed of the cars on the feeder, especially during rush hour. It appears that's when these accidents are more prone to happen. It's obviously bad.

bigcity : Not this! A 4 way stop would make it so much worse! Imagine that at 5 oclock?!?!? Backed up to Townsen or further! People on the feeder do need to slow down but there should be no cross traffic at Hamblen at all!

My best friend was hit a week or two ago there. A woman ran the red light. Bestie had her two dogs with them and took them to the emergency vet to get checked out, messed up her own foot, totaled her car. Just a mess. Hope those people are okay.

It is that goofy 2 lane trap when coming off 494. Cars waiting to jump across 494 on to Hamblen. Exit 494 and the jumpers expect oncoming traffic to make a hard lane right onto Hamblen. They see an open left lane and jump.

Its the feeder road. They cant put a 4 way there. Stop signs wont work.

Just come past another crash at Hamblen Road and 494. A big white car and a smaller car , both badly damaged. â€¦. Fire, Police and other services in attendance

Just stop south bound 494 lanes at the overpass. Get rid of that crossing and have traffic circle under bridge.
