Again! Another serious wreck at 494 and Hamblen!

luv2eatsushi : Really? call 911 for a drunk or low sugared person. yeah. I am sure they police will come right away. Nah, I need to get to work.

Happyface : Oh my goodness. We went out thru Forest Cove to Hamblen to 59 about 10:00 this morning. Everything was clear. The accident had to have happened just after we were there and just before you were there. We took a different route home about 11:00as Waze showed the Hamblen turn under 59 was red.Prayers for those involved.

Happyface : I go by there often and it a mess of broken car parts from accidents. They don't even clean it up. From what I have seen it looks like they are finishing the foundations for some type of traffics signal. Hopefully it will be an automated signal the will detect cars wanting to head east in Hamblin. It could take them years to finish based on other construction projects on 494.

Kittle : Yes, must have been! I pray everyone involved is ok but after seeing that incident I am very doubtful they survived!

luv2eatsushi : Low blood sugar is a really bad thing. Sometimes you can get really really low and not even realize it. A person should always call the police in that situation. Either way drunk or low blood pressure it needs to be dealt with.

Donnawisdom : luv2eatsushi : Truth be told, neither of you know what the hell you would have done if in the situation that I was in. No one really knows how they will react to a situation until they are in the middle of it. It's easy to say what you would have done, after it is all over. When I tapped my horn at him, he was belligerent, so I would bet a cool hundred he was DRUNK, and not having a medical emergency. Does low blood sugar turn you into a punk ***, with an attitude? I was in self preservation mode and just wanted to remove myself from the situation as quickly as possible. Never know who is carrying or may ram your car! No time for much of anything else, no license number, only a description of the car, really don't think I would have gotten any action from police with just that. It's easy to say what you would have done but the fact is you don't know.

I do not want to see another light on 494. The intersection should be closed off. Hamblen can be accessed by going under the bridge. It may take a little longer to access the neighborhood for the residents but the right turn 494 to Hamblen and a right turn from Hamblen to 494 will be still open.
