Ace Hardware Store Went into the Ace hardware store here in Kingwood. When I entered the store, there were three employees near the entrance talking. Not one asked me if I needed help. They usually do. So I searched on my own. I had many different types of items to buy, so I would be all over the store. Finally, an older guy named Gordon asked me if I need help. I told him what I was looking for. He helped me find the items I needed.
In the past, any employees near the entrance have always asked me if I need some assistance. This was the first time I was basically ignored.
So, thank you Gordon, for stepping up to help me.

Finding items in a hardware store, even one as exceptional as K&M Kingwood, is a treasure hunt. When offered help, respond "nope, I'm good" and enjoy the adventure...
Skippy : Yeah, could be a hunt if by yourself.
Genesis: it's always when you need help that you can't find someone. But when you just want to browse you have a person every aisle ask you if you need help
Tiffyd789 : I used to work in the furniture business. The owners wanted us to "hawk" our customers. That was just not me. People want to look at their leisure and not be followed by a pesky sales person.
Tubec : Also, that Ace store in Kingwood is so overpriced.
For example, a little hot plate cost over 3 times as much somewhere else.
$16.00 for a pair of woman's white socks with a black bow on them. You can find a dozen pair of socks from Temu for half that price.
The convenience of having a hardware store so close is great but you certainly pay for it.

Tiffyd789 : I worked at Bath & Body works every holiday season in college. They insisted we continually go up to costumers to ask if they need anything. So much so;it made me uncomfortable. I was so happy when they realized I was "a boss" at the cash wrap aka checking them out. I think people mistake my outgoing personality;; at times. I am not always that way. I can also be painfully shy.
