Abandoned houses

Donnawisdom : When you say "abandoned"...what are you noticing about them that makes you think they are abandoned? Tall grass, no window treatments?

Investment companies are buying these to use as a write-off would be my guess.

I mean you can tell the yard has not been tended to in a really long time. And I keep checking on the houses and no one is ever cutting the lawn. It is just weird to me.

I just would hate to live close to a house like that. In one case the cars have not moved in at least a year. It is just so weird to me. I just have never seen this type of thing around here in the many years I have lived here.

Donnawisdom : I need to get out and cut my grass but it was still too wet this morning. I feel like mine is looking like an abandoned house! Jk..not that bad yet but...tomorrow is my target day.

But there is a difference between long grass and a totally run down yard. Shrubs that are totally ignored for a very long time. My grass is long right now too.

Donnawisdom : I need to get the spreader out and buy some Weed N Feed! The grass isn't too bad but the weeds ..ugh. I have a neighbor who works on his yard ...no kidding...5 days a week!

Donnawisdom: maybe it's a rental home or maybe people lost their home

I can think of two abandoned-looking houses out near Bear Branch. I'm sure the neighbors hate looking at their overgrown forest-lawns every day.

About 30% of KW's homes are rentals. now.

Donnawisdom : If the house you're referring to is on Maple Terrace, that's been abandoned for almost 2 years. If I lived next door, on the other side of the street, or anywhere close to it, I'd be FURIOUS!!! I heard that the owner had passed away and that relatives lived out-of-state. I think it's about time someone in that area raised holy hell with the HOA. In my honest opinion that house needs to be torn down!!!
