lusol : We literally had the cops show up at our home to investigate whether are kids were supposed to go to Huffman ISD.Since we are going over the 1960 bridge across Lake Houston a whole lot, my son associated it with going home when he was real young.When he was in second grade, they were on a field trip. Going over the bridge, my son said he goes over the bridge to go home. The bus driver heard this and assumed we lived in Atascocita, based upon that, and talked to school administrators. The school administrators then contact the cops (I can't remember now if it was the HSCO or Constable), and they came to our house and also questioned our neighbors. 4951

pvlag : So theoretically, if a convenience store clerk was murdered during a robbery, you'd point out that he, the clerk, had made bad decisions (because EVERYONE has made bad decisions in their life)? 4951

@Shelby2014 : This is nothing new. When I was at HHS in the 90s we had a student get murdered at a party. Group of kids took her body out into the woods and dumped it. She might have survived had they called 911. Prayers for the families involved and all the students/teachers. 4951

PeterB123 : And that's what they are supposed to do when there is a doubt of any kind, nothing to worry about if you are legit, but I wish Humble ISD did that more frequently, there are kids that used to live in Harris Cty and then move away and keep attending Humble ISD school, sometimes admin knows about it but they do nothing, and other times the Big Dogs at the District allowed this to happen because they know the family and they just move to Oakhurst for example, still they are paying taxes to Montgomery county and should attend their corresponding schools. lusol : I have no issue with verifying residency; my problem is with the wasted resources.Would you:
1. Call the police and ask them to investigate.
2. Type the address in Google Maps, print the photo of the front of the house and ask the second grader if that is where they live. 4951

PeterB123 : I think it means that the victim made a bad decision before way before by being part of this group or whatever they were, it wasn't a random shooting he most likely knew his killers it was a drug related for sure. 4951

PeterB123 : They should have allocations for that, is usually the District Police officer who are dispatch to do what is call Bed Checks as well as Truancy checks so the resources are there it's not new, but they hardly use it lately. 4951

lusol : The unsubstantiated claims I've read said the victim was known to sell some pot, but I haven't read anything saying he was friends with the thugs who shot him. If, and this is a big if, he hung around with the thugs who killed him and knew they were violent, then he put himself in a bit of danger that way. Anybody who hangs out with violent people add danger to their lives. That being said, I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he was killed by friends.The murdering thugs might have known he sold some weed and most likely had cash, but convenience stores are known to have cash as well.Of course, some people might have read things and/or know someone who knows the facts which I'm not aware.At this time, I see the young man who was murdered as strictly a victim. Things might surface that change my opinion, but until they do, I'm giving Tristan the benefit of the doubt. 4951

PeterB123 : If people are involved in anyway with buying or selling drugs/ weed then anything can happen; i.e. murder. It's bad all around. I think weed should be legalized but right now it's not. 4951
