RipTristan : Tips are credits. It takes about 25,000 tips to get a gift card. The more you post the more tips you get. You have to post a lot here to get them. 4951

Kmadd1995 : Not worth it, Karen. Ignore the insensitive comments. You're already dealing with enough. Focus on you and the rest of your family. Love you! ❤️ 4951

TX1836 : Enough already!!! Matthew 7:1-5

Cynthiabell : The person you are quoting made his posts 5 days ago, and will not likely read any responses this much later. If what is posted on here troubles you, I would recommend not reading the comments, and just save yourself any frustration. 4951

Stealth83 : There is a Facebook Fundraiser called Tristan Maddux's Memorial Fund. I started it for the family, and I have been a friend of theirs for many years. We set the fundraising goal at $20,000, and we exceeded that number in just a few short days. It is a true testament of how much people adore Tristan and his family. He was a wonderful young man. He had the biggest heart and wouldn't hesitate to help anyone in need. Several of the comments on here add insult to injury, and I'm saddened that Tristan's mom, looking for answers and comfort, read some of these malicious posts. Some of these comments are extremely contentious, vile, and heartless. Everyone is on here bickering with each other, and each is hell bent on winning an argument with complete strangers, that the whole thread has become toxic. Where is the sense of community? Has the whole world gone mad? This thread isn't about free, intellectual discourse any more. It has become a farce! Neighbor pitted against neighbor. For what?! What have you truly resolved here except spreading bitterness and divisiveness? Let's focus on justice, understanding, and comraderie, and stop the ridiculous banter. This family has had enough. Those of us who actually knew Tristan know how much joy he brought into this world, and no one deserves what happened to him. I have sons the same age as Tristan. I consider myself to be a good, involved parent, even though I'm a single mom, and my kids are doing exceptionally well in life. But, there is evil in this world, and they will undoubtedly encounter it time and time again. Although they have been raised well, I cannot protect them from the dangers of this world, no matter how much discernment and faith I try to instill within them. I hate to read everyone arguing and insulting each other on here. Death and tragedy should unite us. Let's spread love and light and stop the contentiousness. It solves nothing. I know some of you more self-righteous people on here who just want to debate and win an argument will reply to this post with more counterpoints and dissention, but I'm only on here to protect a young man who cannot defend himself, as his ashes have been scattered in the sea. Where is your empathy? I expect this will trigger a hundred more negative comments, but I am logging off this toxic site to let some of you stew in your own self-righteousness. God must look down on the pathetic lot of people we have become and shake his head in disappointment...my heart is heavier having read the pages of pages of discord and maliciousness that took place over these sad, horrible past few days. God be with us all. 😔 4951

mm4731 : The original poster should lock the thread, or at least be banned from KDC for a few weeks. 4951

Cynthiabell : Why would you read it? People have lost all common sense. Our family has a social media rule around deaths and funerals - stay off social media - it does no one any good, especially for the spouse / sibling of the deceased. Come back to it later, when emotions have settled a bit. I guess it's a bit of a forbidden fruit that some can't put down, even in the midst of their grief. 4951

Katzen : I agree 100%

mm4731 : The original post was essentially a news report that answered a lot of questions the community had about who was involved in the murder. I get what you are saying though. 4951

Cynthiabell : people are very brave behind a computer screen. Internet bullies are everywhere. Most folks here are very kind. Please dont let a few ruin your outlook of the rest. So glad to see your fundraiser did so well. I nor my family knew Tristan, but I did contribute a small amount. My prayers are with his family. God bless. 4951
