In the 4th largest city in the country, with nearly 8 million people in it and only around 10,000 sworn law officers across all the surrounding agencies? To be clear, I'm not a die hard HPD fan and I have plenty of qualms w the department, but I do support law enforcement and I'm not naive enough to pretend they have unlimited resources. Houston's violent crime rate is around 1,151 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, and the city deals with hundreds of homicides every year. So yes, they're going to prioritize violent crimes and emergencies over property crimes whenever resources are stretched. But sure, keep insisting that they "don't do anything" because your truck wasn't at the top of the list.
