I no longer have a horse in the race but yeah that's super creepy to me. If that had happened to me as a preteen/ teen I would've probably said get the F away from me.
Now if it was the entire staff greeting the kids that would be one thing( probably would've still got an eye roll from me) but just men? Those kids are not going to be impressed

Join us on the first day of school (Aug. 13, 2025) to line the halls of KMS with high fives, handshakes & encouragement for our students! #KMSCougarPride🐾I don't get emails from kMS. It's a little different, but the intent doesnt seem nefarious or threatening or anything to worry about. It's not like the students have to interact at all.

It's to encourage male figures to be a part of their kids education. The WATCH DOG program is similar, in mission. For a lot of communities, it's more common for females to be more involved with school PTA and other activities. This is just an idea to encourage the male figures of students and give a fun opportunity to join their kids in an exciting day, first day of school. The principle of KMS is a great guy, and I hope people participate. I do understand your point. Why don't you do it with me? I'll be there.
