>> I did that 4 years ago....we are still vacationing.....
@Burnsway: We have always been on vacation as mine have always been homeschooled. It's the best! Isn't it amazing how much they can learn in such a short time each day? I'm sure you belong to all the homeschool groups. We have so many activities to choose from we can't do it all. I feel that if we do not use it we will lose it so math is one subject my kids do year round. During the summer they have to do at least 3 lessons a week.
@TEXASGIRLMAMMA:
Heart and H.O.M.E and we hang with several not affiliated with a group also. There is actually one here in cleveland that meets every Friday so will probably look into that. She also is in a homeschool girl scout troop. Yea being she is doing 6th grade now we had to remove a lot from our calendar. We followed a unschool approach till this year. Up till this year she did very little seat work about 8 hrs a week so we had more outtings.
Now before everyone gulps...unschool and no school are 2 different things. Unschool just means I allowed my elementary school child to choose and pick within reason her interest and worked her hands on no worksheets curriculum in around what she chose.
Just had to clear that up as the minute you say unschool people visualize a child on the couch eating candy and playing video games all day while mom smokes dope and drinks beer....
Do to this outbreak we may stay home all this week playing video games and eating candy....😂😁
