To the person who replied to my post (I'm the HPD officer) and ranted about some police officer giving them a ticket at 8:00 a.m. You must not be able to read so well. I was talking about NIGHT shift. Last time I checked, 8:00a.m. Is in the morning time which would make it DAY shift. If you couldn't pay that much attention to the simple words I wrote, and you obviously can't figure out that a large red sign with the words "STOP" written on it, mean stop. If Kingwood is in trouble, it's because of *******es like you that have moved up to our area and think that we should conform to YOU. I can honesty say that the majority of citizens who live here respect laws and want order. Evidently you don't. Go back to Humble.
@LyleRobiceaux:
Not sure how this thread got derailed, but isn't it great that you are responsible for what every HPD, constable and sheriff's deputy does?
STOP means stop! (Yellow light means 3 more cars).
All kidding aside, cops are allowed to enforce any law they see violated, including sitting on a traffic sign and making sure people stop when the big red sign says STOP. The 100 Club is a wonderful group, but it is not a "get out of jail free" card - especially if the person getting pulled over thinks they are "owed" something for their contribution, and makes sure they tell the officer that, before the officer even tells them why they were pulled over.
Now, going back to the original post, don't leave things in your vehicle, lock your vehicles and make sure you have adequate lighting and leave your outside lights on, overnight. You're electric bill isn't going to be that much higher, just because you leave your lights on. Also, remember, it might be just a duffle bag of dirty clothes, or just an empty box, but if someone can see it in your car, they won't know that until they bust out your vehicle window and grab your stuff and run. Think!!! If you think like a thief, even better (just don't act like a thief).
