So, i go to vote on the way to work this morning. I was prettu certain about most of my votes. Then one of those annoying "vote-for-my-guy" carnival barker types was just outside the 100 foot line. Wearing his candidate's shirt he says, "So and So would appreciate your vote this morning."

Well, Mr Annoying, i went out of my way to NOT vote for So and So. 4951

Sometimes rehoming a dog is doing what's best for them.  A few months ago, I took in a Shiba Inu whose owners were moving, and couldn't take him with them.  In turn, we ended up with another great family dog, as I have really wanted to get another Shiba for some time.  This dog was raised with small children, trained, and very well taken care of (have all of the vet records) came from a reputable breeder in Washington State, and is such a great dog.  In turn, he now lives with a family that loves him back, keeps him indoors, plays with him, lets him out when he wants, exercises him, lets him sleep on the bed, etc.   If the person who is looking to rehome the dog does their homework, and interviews people, checks references, etc.  then they really are trying to do what is in the best interest of the dog.  The woman I got the Shiba from interviewed about 6 people, and the process took about a week.  She chose me because I was the one that knew the most about the breed, and have owned 2 Shibas before.  She wasn't 100% sure about the other people who showed interest in the dog because a lot of people fall in love with their looks and don't realize what butt-heads they can be.   There are great people out there willing to take in a dog, you just have to be patient and find them.
I know it's hard for a lot of people to understand, as they would never "abandon" their dogs, as they are family members, but sometimes people find themselves in situations they didn't expect to be in, and they are heartbroken over it, but they know they have to find another home for their dog.

I agree...there is definitely an overabundance of pets being given away/abandoned, but some people do have valid reasons, however, some people don't, and just don't care, and that is really sad. 4951

Please do not give your dogs away for free as there are people who get them and use them for bait.  Charge a rehoming fee and do all vet checks and other things posters have said in the above threads.  Also, boxers should never be kept outside in this heat and humidity for long periods of time.  Hope you find very loving homes for your 2 babies and won't let them go until you find the perfect home for them. 4951

Wallace Pups...I just read an article that things have gotten WORSE on the Corridor of Cruelty...didn't think that was possible. Many, many more dogs being dumped every day. The volunteers are probably exhausted and sick about it.

On another note....by "outside" dog's I mean dogs who are not allowed in the house at all...rain, thunder, boiling heat, hurricanes. Mine love it outside too but have a doggy door and choose when they want to go out. 4951

I would love to see a pic of the mix.  My husband used to have a Sharpei/English bull dog mix, she lived for 17 years and was a faithful companion.  Her name was Bubba. 4951

Many of you may think I am just trying to dump the dogs. That is not the issue,,, in fact we are actively looking for someone who wants to take care of them. We recently moved and there is not enough room. Life changes and things happen un expected. I am not trying to DUMP them,,, we truely love and care for them,, just feel that they could have a better life, than what we can offer. I am not going into details to why we want to find them a new home,,, we just do. We have had them for over 4 years,,, I am just asking for anybody interested, in taking them. If are not, please I do not need to hear your opinion about dumping them... Its hard enough trying to just let them go. 4951

The top one is a good looking dog. Looks like part German Shepherd and Rhodesian ridgeback or lab. Good luck trying to find a home. 4951

I hope they find homes, and that they can stay together.  They are really nice looking dogs, and look well cared for.  We already have our hands full with 2 dogs and 2 kids under 5, so we're not in the position to take them in, but I am sure somebody in the area can help.  Good luck. 4951
