No, no no no, no, No.  Pills and patches are all snake oil gimmicks. I quit about 11 years ago cold turkey. In my experience, when you quit cold turkey, you are the only one accountable if you start up again. If you use the patch or whatever then you can just blame it on the patch that it "Didnt work".  It's not easy, but if you really really really want to do it and are very serious about it, the only way to do it is to hold yourself accountable and suck it up and put it up with the cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Ride it out, you will be glad you did. I chewed sunflower seeds while i was at work and then I didnt go to bars for a few weeks. When i went back to the bar, the first thing that I noticed was how bad the place smelled.  Also, quitting smoking is a real great sense of accomplishment. try to look at every minute without a smoke as a victory until eventually minutes turn into days, and days into weeks, and then suddenly, you just dont care anymore. It's not even on your mind to smoke. 4951
I quit cold turkey & I used suckers as a mouth piece. I would just stick a sucker in my mouth when I wanted a cig & after awhile I didn't need the suckers. Never had "bloating" never gained weight . Just kept telling myself I had to do it ....40 years later it's still working ....hang in there Wooderson, you can do it too. 4951

Good luck. You can do it if you really want it. But it's hard. I've known various  people try different things, gum, patches, etc. Seems everyone is different that way. But if it were me, I'd go cold turkey, John Wayne it and get it over with. 4951
