I definitely agree with that...if you don't want kids, DON'T HAVE THEM! Having kids is a big choice and a huge responsibility, not an "obligation". I'm ALL for those not up for it choosing not to.
I just read something different into your post. Maybe I was mistaken.
But don't judge parents for having to give up an animal for whatever reason after having a baby when you can't possibly even pretend to understand the dynamics surrounding such a decision. You can get as high and mighty as you want based on what you THINK you know, but you would just be blowing smoke until you walked in those shoes. Ask any parent if you don't believe me. To judge someone as "lazy" based on something you know nothing about is out there.
And btw, the animal thing doesn't personally apply to me. We chose not to get a family pet until our youngest was old enough to understand the responsibilities of it. She was was a rescue and we still have her (and love her) 3 yrs later. She is a great dog (gsd) who is playful, obedient, protective and incredibly smart. Never causes any problems and is an indoor animal. But if she ever crossed one of my kids and hurt them (highly unlikely), she would be gone, no questions asked! I would be really sad if that ever happened, but dogs are ANIMALS. Can't imagine our dog dog ever turning, but if she did, our kids would come first, period. 4951
