Good question. Could it be something that affects kids with lower emunity? Today germs are a big no no for babies. 4951

This actually happened to another NC student a few years ago who was an Eagle baseball player.
 
Something is flying around here that is causing this stuff. They'd better nip it in the bud soon.

The kid in Dayton he was an athletic, right? Katie played softball, the kid that passed away a few years ago was a baseball player, is the kid in the hospital now in sports?

How long has this kid been in the hospital and why isn't there all the publicity and support like Katie? I thought it was amazing how our community rallied together to support her and her family.

I remember he got taken to the hosp on TAKS testing day. I think it was last Tuesday??? Idk why there isn't as much publicity.  I wish there was more support. I posted about a paypal acct just a few minutes ago.  There are also tshirts being sold, but I'd rather donate to the acct cause mom will get all the $. He is not doing well at allEmoticon 4951

Ala. mystery illness cases climb to 10; CDC still investigatingThe number of mystery illness cases affecting Alabama is growing. Wednesday, Alabama Department of Public Health spokeswoman Dr. Mary McIntyre confirmed the number rose to ten overnight from a previous report of seven. Two people have died."Since we sent out the alert to providers last night, we have had three additional patients/cases," Dr. McIntyre told WSFA 12 News. "These patients all have the same symptoms of cough, shortness of breath and "something" on their chest x-rays," she explained.Doctors are stumped for answers as to what's causing the respiratory illness.State health department officials say of the initial seven patients, two died, two have been released and three remain hospitalized. McIntyre said of the initial seven patients that each suffered from fever, cough and shortness of breath and that all of the severe illnesses were accompanied by pneumonia. There may have been more than one contributing factor. 4951
