I bought a old Atom Pop popcorn popper off ebay.It's a stove top popper.Made my first batch last night using peanut oil, safeway brand yellow popcorn, and butter buds.Large bowl was 618 calories.But i didn't eat dinner because I was full all evening.I forgot how good stove top popcorn is over the microwave stuff.I wonder if my coconut oil would be better or worse?What I liked about this one is no stirring or shaking required. 4951

HEB had large (and I mean large) cans of cat food on sale.I needed a few cans of dog food to round the collection to make it through the week, so I thinks to myself, they should really like cat food instead. I usually split a regular sized can of dog food between the two of them, so this large can had even more goodness, plus it was cat food. They loved the cat food. Did you know it causes bad gas in dogs?I don't mean a little toot here or there, I mean a constant stream that fills up a room, and it never subsides.Ceiling fans don't even dissipate it.I thought the first time was a fluke. skip a day, try again, not a fluke.Damn, still got 1 can left. 4951

I've never used coconut oil.   I thought it was high in saturated fats and was bad for cholesterol? 4951

@Retired_Engineer: only in large doses..........like eating 3 --170 oz tubs of popcorn ( nobody can eat that at one sitting, it would make them sick) 4951

@BooBear: no...it was what we used back in the early 90's when I was in the concession business as the barometer of what it would take for the coconut oil to be bad for you ( they had just started making a push for canola oil to be used instead of coconut oil--problem is canola oil has a low smoke point and the theater would fill up with it and set off the fire alarms). 4951

@mardigrasman:

@BooBear: no, the last thing I wanted was a phone call from a theater owner/manager telling me to bring them coconut oil  and pick the canola oil up because of what I described above ( not to mention how p*******d they would be, also!) 4951
