There is an amazing amout of timber being harvested throughout Kingwood.  I am wondering if KSA is getting any monies for the timber or its just a wash, you remove for free and keep the proceeds. 4951

Normally those companies offer the services like @kingwooddiscgolf described it. They remove them for free and sell the wood off. Hopefully that's what happened here. 4951

most tree removal folks sell that which they remove....but my guess is that the market is prob getting flooded due to all the trees that are coming down....so not prime $$ for the sell off... 4951

Looks like they've been sending a lot of it through a wood chipper and spreading it between the remaining trees to try and fill some of the mud pits the equipment has left behind. There are still many spots that are now holding stagnant water and are instant mosquito breeding grounds. 4951

Our HOA is asking for $90 to help remove the trees from the greenbelt trails. I don't know how good the wood can actually be by now. Maybe for mulch. 4951

There is a ton of board feet being removed.  The cost of removal doesnt equal the timber value.  Its kinda sad the housing market is down with such a surplus of framing material. 4951

@nycoil:   Those are hardwoods and they hollow out as they get older when they are live.  Pines dont hollow, they are solid.  4951

I'm ready for them to get them all down.  I've seen some termite swarms and I'm afraid of them falling in a strong wind.  Plus, when it rains, the greenbelts are a nightmare with all of the mosquitoes breeding amongst all of the debris.  4951
