In the title of that article is "HATE THE GAYS" and in the first paragraph is "HOMOPHOBIC EXECUTIVES".

If you dont believe in a homosexual lifestyle you are labeled hate, homophobic.  Sorry folks I just wasnt built that way. 4951

@kingwooddiscgolf:  I think the media has helped pass this "inclination" on to the masses. I know lots of people who are somewhat neutral on this issue. They would never mistreat someone because of a HUGE complicated issue which obviously many misunderstandings exist. I don't get the extremists, on either side...And really, there is no "believing" in a homosexual lifestyle. It's a lifestyle like all the rest of us have...work, family, bills, and all the rest of it.People have a tendency to go nuts when they get passionate about something..that is always sure to inflame. Once inflamed, people get nasty and unreasonable and the doors of communication shut tight.Had I been the CEO of CFA, I would have shut the media totally out and invited the leaders of the gay community to come for lunch and a honest talk..I think the bottom line is, none of us agree totally with everyone about ANYTHING. So, why make whatever issues we don't agree on the reason to alienate each other.My BF's BIL is gay. He's against gay marriage. Well, not against it as in a vote, but he doesn't want the trap of marriage and doesn't get why anyone would. LOL He's got a point...

Chickfila is a christian company.  They play christian music in their restaurants, they are closed on Sundays, they provide scholarships to their employees to christian colleges and they give to christian causes.  It is no surprise that they are for the biblical definition of marriage.  Mr. Cathy stated his views respectfully and has handled himself admirably throughout the entire ordeal.  I don't get how this whole thing blew so totally out of proportion. 4951

@kpdad:
Uhhhhhh, I think you are missing something. This isnt about a citizen boycotting a product. It's about government officials using laws to prevent businesses from opening because they dont agree with the CEO's personal views. If you can't see the difference, you opinion is too misinformed to be taken seriously.

You do understand that is exactly what they are threatening to do. As a matter of fact, the only reason they are not doing it is because after suggesting it, public outcry went against them. More importantly, it is unAmerican for an elected official to suggest that the thought police are are ready to pounce.[quote-end-tag-mismatch]

IMO if you let ANY certain group with their own views dictate where you're going to eat food from then that's your own deal. Seriously does it matter? 4951

@angeldanleyguerrero: It does when Government gets involved in stepping on the rights of private businesses based on an opinion a CEO has.

@kpdad: what, pray tell, are you talking about? Most of your posts are unintelligible because of you inane attempts at being super-intelligent, and this one is no different.

Mayor Menin clearly stated that he was "going to do everything in his power" to stop CFA from operating in Boston. It was only when he realized that he could do nothing, that he changed his tune. articles.boston.com/ 2012-07-27/metro/328 69124_1_political-sc ience-gay-marri

Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno said he that he wouldnt approve a company that discriminates and told NBC, "They're not coming in." Chicago Mayor Emmanuel (you might know him as BHO's recent Chief of Staff when BHO was recentlg against gay marriage) backed Moreno's plan until his lawyers told him he didnt have a leg to stand on.

If a individual doesnt want to buy a product, more power to them. I refuse to buy several products becauase i dont agree with the politics of the owners. One in particular I wont purchase in Ben and Jerry's. But you can bet your bottom dollar if the Governor of Texas tried to stop B&J from selling in Texas, I'd try to stop the governor. 4951

I grew up with a Mom who took excellant care of us and she is a lesbian I learned along time ago that people will always have something to say about homosexuals interracial marriages and stereotype people based on their income. To me it doesn't matter because people can't accept that everyone isn't the same. 4951

This boycott thing is absurd. Perhaps GLBT will partner with PETA for a full blown, irrational exposure point? Personally I like that as a CEO this guy was not afraid to state his belief. He is well entitled to his opinion as are all the rest of us and they have good chicken, too! I have no issue with orientation, race, creed etc. but find it very ironic that the same that demand equal treatment and blended obscurity just like the rest if us make such an effort to push issues forward with such a misguided passion. I will eat at this place more often just because it's nice to see that there are still those that are able to express a viewpoint that happens to be outside of PC.
@TXtransplant: Finally someone I agree with!!!! 4951

@angeldanleyguerrero: But thats not the problem we are having...I buy from Starbucks, McDonalds, Homedepot all of which are for gay rights. The problem most of us have is that Government "tried" to step in and say if he didn't change his policy(which he has no policy against gays, so not sure what policy he was to change) he would be banned from Boston. So basically a Government official was telling a Private owned company that if the CEO didn't DENY GODS WAY IN PUBLIC and his belief in the Bible he could no longer do business.....sorry but NO WAY IN HELL IM GONNA SAY THATS OK!

MR. Hp here,Who cares. I love Chic-Fil-A, and I love Jesus! Why is it okay for those that stand up for the biblical definition of marriage to be attacked. However if we attack anyone verbally or thru the written word regarding gay marriage were labeled as anti-gay, or homophobic?I guess the freedom of speech only works one way. I personally will be eating at Chic-Fil-A on August 1st to show my support. 4951
