@odieowner: Sure!  In no particular order...If you think someone is bothering your kiddo in the classroom/hallways/at recess/in the cafeteria/on the way home/whatever let the teacher know right away!  If you don't tell me, I can't do anything!Always call the front office with transportation changes instead of trusting that we'll get a chance to check email or voice mail.  Sending your baby home the wrong way is one of our biggest fears! If the homework makes your kiddo cry tell us ASAP!  We don't want that either.Don't flip out before you speak with us... there might be more to the story or a reasonable explanation.  EmoticonWe don't like the lice rules either.  Sorry. We can try to help resolve cafeteria issues, but it's best if you call or email the cafeteria manager.  (Side note:  If you send cash with your kid for lunches watch his/her cafeteria account!  I don't like to be negative, but I don't like adults taking advantage of kids either.)No, I'm not calling your baby a liar.

No, I know you didn't raise him to do that.Fundraiser decisions are made by administrators.  They make us buy stuff too.  We agree that it's annoying. If you email/call/send a note and don't hear back right away please try again.  Sometimes the voice mail light doesn't light up, or the email is delivered to the junk mail folder, or your kid doesn't take the note out of his backpack for a month... EmoticonPlease read the newsletter.  Please come to meet the teacher, open house, and conferences. Please don't friend us on Facebook.  We do like you, but it's awkward. That's all I can think of at the moment!  Thanks for asking!  Emoticon

Here's another.  I could do this all night!  EmoticonIf you give your kid Tylenol right before school to reduce his fever and then say, "Don't tell your teacher!" the first thing he'll say to me is, "I have a fever but my mom said not to tell!"  This honesty also extends to embarrassing family secrets you've begged him to keep private.  Just FYI. 4951

The note thing drives me crazy. You can't expect a young child to remember to give a note to the teacher or to be the go between- No I'm Not a Teacher. 4951

When I was teaching, my kids told me all kinda of stuff. One of my favorites is when one of my little girls told me her parents would tan together in the tanning bed in their garage. LOL! 4951

@taramay: My favorite this year was a story about the creative way a child's family handled running out of toilet paper during a family event... I won't share it.  Emoticon

I thought of another one... but it's selfish.  EmoticonEvery once in a while reply to a newsletter or reminder email just to let her know you're reading.  The feedback is so lovely and motivating.  Sometimes I wonder if parents think my email is just spam.  Emoticon 4951

I think a good one would be to tell parents that you can't do everything.  It boggles my mind the amount of parents that blame the teacher when homework has been done and the child fails a test.  I think children would respond better if the parents lead by example and sat down and helped their child with school work. 4951

@Okiedokie: I make sure that my kids do their homework but if they need help, I make the teacher aware of it.  Teachers need to know if there's a struggle with learning the material.
