Our taxpayers dollars at work at the Airport! This is why we've been navigating construction for years!
BELIEVE and jv339 reacted INSIDE UNITED AIRLINES BRAND-NEW IAH CLUB! 😱 Is America’s LARGEST Airline Lounge Worth It? ✈️
Replies:
United pays for the interior decoration of the blank space, the daily operation costs of the Club, and all of the employees that bid to work in all of their U-Clubs, everywhere, whether direct UA employees or vendors, such as the bartenders, etc. . The space was built by the COH, of course, but United's passengers bring millions of dollars a year to the City, with parking, vendor sales, city taxes collected on each ticket sold by United, at IAH, so it's a good investment in to the financial health of our largest airport. Since the COH owns and runs the property, if United is no longer using it, they can lease it easily, to another airline or entity, or make it into a vendor or other use space, to generate money.
Airports are a giant spiderweb of licenses and of contracts, sub-contracts and licensing with involvement of multiple federal and local agencies in that morass too. The mess of words at the start is intentional. 1 contract may actually multiple with a host of parties.
Frank Lorenzo was an evil genius when it came to divesting each little and big valuable piece he controlled at airports near and far.
