You can't make this $#!+ up.
Republican Texas Senate hopeful Ken Paxton's office is suing elections officials in his state's largest county for helping people of color to vote. Paxton's lawsuit claims that a get out the vote advertisement campaign from Harris County's office essentially constitutes reverse racism because it encouraged Black and Latino voters (groups with historically lower access to elections) to vote. Harris County is Texas's most diverse county, notably housing Houston.

In a statement late Thursday, Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth said the audience tags on the ads had been removed "to avoid unnecessary distractions" from the election.
It is unclear how the removal of the audience tags affects the Attorney General Office's suit.
The lawsuit argues that ads on Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram included tags that intentionally directed them toward users with African, Asian and Latino-related interests and backgrounds.
The listed tags included African-American literature, Latin music, Hispanic kitchen, East Asia, 27 different countries and several foreign cities, including Madrid and Bangkok."

And how is that racist, other than in an Orwellian doublespeak sense?
Is the station affirming the effect Paxton alleges is true or merely reporting?
Exactly. Their ads should just be generic and not aimed at only certain groups, but a general get out the vote vibe. Thats why they were removed is my guess.
How is voting manipulating?
Is eliminating polling sites in mostly minority populated areas manipulating the vote?
Is closing polling sites at colleges manipulating the vote?
I'm going to sue because I don't like how Republican candidates are always listed first on the ballot.
