Man Wanted in Two States Arrested in Porter-Area Traffic Stop A man reportedly wanted by the U.S. Marshals on felony warrants from Minnesota and Virginia was arrested during a traffic stop just off FM 1314 in Porter on Wednesday night, October 28th. A Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constable made the stop. The man refused to leave the vehicle, and the deputy forcibly entered it and removed him after several minutes. He allegedly refused to identify himself, then provided incorrect identifying information before the deputy established his identity. Four dogs were inside the vehicle. Montgomery County Animal Control responded and took custody of them. The man is identified as Fredrick Broussard Brown. An arrest is not a conviction, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Wonder what the charges were? At any rate, he had the bad luck of being stopped in Montgomery County. Had he driven another 5 miles he would have been in Harris County and already out on $100 bond.

Is Montgomery unique in using the old style black/white striped "jail bird" outfit? Do they get a ball and chain on their ankle to go with it?
I've never seen anything other than the bright orange kind, but there's thousands of counties in this country.

I'm all for bringing back the ball and chain or the chain gang working the fields. Prison isn't supposed to be 3 squares and a roof over your head with cable TV. I'm even for bringing back the really old days of using sledge hammers to make little tiny gravel out of big rocks. And I don't want to hear about inhumane treatment. All criminals at any level treat their victims inhumanely and affect some for the rest of their lives.
