Amazon hiring 6K workers in Houston for seasonal work.

I just read that article in the paper! They said the average hourly pay was about $20 an hour. Not too bad for a part-time gig.

MissAmericanPie : Yes. A friend of mine son got hired last year after the Christmas hiring. Full time with benefits. Very happy that he finally has a reliable paycheck coming in.

I agree! I was a seasonal employee for UPS for about three Christmases. If I had wanted to get hired on full-time after the peak season, I probably could have. But I just did it for extra money and to keep myself from gaining too many extra holiday calories by being a driver helper and running packages all day lol

The only negative is if you have to use your own car for deliveries. I noticed there are numerous people using their own car.

Amazon is a good company, and they pay well. You can expect to work hard on your shift. There is a path for full-time for those who do well.
