With 27% of people in the San Jacinto River Basin living or working in floodplains, we must find legislative solutions that address fragmented governance.

BobRehak : thanks!! In this state, we educate many of the best engineers in the world. We have research universities that are tops in the nation.
The reason why nothing is being done are:
1 Politics
2 Money

Remember way back when the Hardy Toll Road went inc bi-sected neighborhoods and NEVER fulfilled the goal of a Tollway from the Woodlands to Downtown. Then we found out about his relationship with Corson and his development company. And they built Beltway 8 too.

In any case, the Scarborough development should not be able to use a MUD... because wells would not be a safe source of potable water. Do they plan to pipe Lake Houston or Lake Conroe water....basically reducing water for Houston and Harris County?

There will need to be a neighborhood school or two. Honestly, build a school on land that is more dangerous than Camp Mystic on the Guadalupe? My grandson and daughter walked home from Elm Grove during several floods. For Imelda, he was holding his Mom's hand and walking through flood water that went up to his chest, and when he stubbed and fell, was over his head and sweeping him away. Are we really going to let politicians at Montgomery County and New Caney or Spring or Conroe school districts endanger the smallest of our children??

This is Graft.
