Purgatory Scream Park Returns to Kingwood for 2026 Halloween Season

Loading Image...

A hometown Halloween tradition will return September 25 when Purgatory Scream Park opens its gates for the 2026 season, bringing all-new immersive effects, expanded attractions and more than 100 seasonal jobs to the Kingwood area.

Built and operated by a local team, Purgatory has grown from a community attraction into one of the Houston area’s most talked-about haunted destinations. Despite that growth, the production remains firmly rooted in Kingwood, employing local actors, makeup artists, security personnel and support staff each fall.

Guests attending this year’s event can expect extensively detailed environments, live performers and upgraded lighting, sound and special effects designed to create Purgatory’s most immersive season to date. Months of design, construction and rehearsal go into transforming the property before the first guests arrive.

Purgatory Scream Park will open September 25 and operate on select nights throughout the Halloween season. Tickets, operating dates and additional information are available at PurgatoryScreamPark.com.

@KingwoodDotCom :
My daughter worked there when it was Kingwood Asylum for years. She quit when it became Purgatory. I'm just glad those days are over!

@KingwoodDotCom : That's good that it stays local to Kingwood. I don't do scary. My family has Jason's Woods up in Lancaster, PA, and I won't even do that one. I'm a chicken. Lol
