Can we have chickens in our backyard in KW?

The broad answer is Harris county, Montgomery County and the City of Houston all allow keeping chickens on residential properties however in KW you have the layer of HoAs. Some may ban it outright or have case by case exemptions for things like FFA its also possible that some allow them entirely.

Many people do. We now of course have loose chickens being seen roaming.Id get hens bc roosters will be crowing at dawn…..😩

I know people who have them in Kingwood but not sure if HOA approved. Probably best to pull up all of your HOA rules and review. I thought about it but I understand the smell can be bad.

MissAmericanPie : City of Houston doesn't allow roosters; only hens and there are some other regulations the city has.

They attempted to pass a law that would force HOAs to allow chickens, but I'm pretty sure it failed.
