Active situation regarding a shooting in Deerbrook Mall.

Unconfirmed report: "The one guy ended up at Kingwood hospital where my daughter works. He's 16"

Police scanner said he was shot 4 times.

We drove past there on the feeder road and you could immediately tell something had happened. There was cars upon cars trying to pull out from the mall and you could see the police lights and police car after police car heading in there. I was very glad as soon as my vehicle made it past the mall.

How very sad for the 16 year old. What has become of the youth today, it seems they are possessed with killing each other and when the reason is told it is SO stupid.

Joe: they have been having those "mob" takeovers, and other issues there, for much of the summer could be a known suspect dispute, too. I’m sure more information will be incoming and fox. Will probably have a report on the 9 pm newscast.

Again so extremely sad, people can't enjoy an evening at the local mall not to mention all the business that is lost due to this sort of BAD behavior.

8:45pm Deebrook Mall Shooting Update:
Source: The Harris County Sherifff's Department: Three officers were at the mall when the shooting occurred.
One individual was shot and transported to a hospital. Victim is a juvenile. Another juvenile is in custody who was involved. A third party may have been struck in the finger who was a bystander. It is still an active investigation, and the police are speaking with witnesses. The Mall is currently secure, and police believe they have all parties involved, including the shooter. There is no further threat to the public. Threat was contained very quickly. Response time was within seconds. They usually have 3 police officers stationed at the mall on weekends, as was the case at the time of the shooting. Police do not know yet what led to the shooting.

Juvenile is going into surgery for his injuries, and an innocent bystander had a slight injury to their finger from the gunfire. both of those involved were under 17. Mall secure, but closed
