Hi KHS parents! My son wasn't lucky enough to get a parking spot

ForestFinds: to make it permanently " yours", yes why not? No worries of trying to find one , specially for those that " compete " with the bell , lol.

ForestFinds : Yes, my son goes to KPark, but they also have you pay for student parking. I wasn't able to get him a spot, but he will be driving himself to school for his senior year.

Anastasia : my daughter scoped out any open spots on a regular basis and parked there, she never had an issues. I am NOT condoning this LOL but she was resourceful.

Get some friends together, pitch in, and ride share.

When I was in school only the kids with after school activities or jobs could drive to school and only on the day of the activity. The rest of the time you took the bus. That's what they are there for.
The school had a schedule of activities and the names of the students involved that coincided with the car license plate and they had to sign in at the attendence office. Those were checked daily and if you got caught driving when you shouldn't be you were banned from driving for 3 weeks.

luannski : And now they wont pick you up if you live close at all. HISD's bus policy has always been trash. I'm suprised they pick anyone up at all.

When it was an empty storefront, parking at the old HEB was probably ok. Now that there is a business actively occupying that area, those spaces are for people shopping at Sprouts. Police are ticketing & cars have been towed.....

Anastasia : I wouldn't suggest parking at KHS in a spot that's available that day. They have someone that monitors the lot & will put a BIG orange sticker on the drivers window. They document the info of your car & this could forfeit your son getting a spot the following year. Try carpooling with someone that got a spot.
