I don't think you can take lawn chairs but it's been awhile since we went. We sat on a blanket.

You cannot take chairs or stools. There is a website that has all the rules. Better to by a seat in the pavilion.

I would highly recommend seats in the pavilion, with all our rain this year, don't trust mosquitoes!
1) clear purses Only, or you will be turned away.
2)They only allow cc at concessions, no cash!
3) They allow you to bring empty clear water bottles to refill at their water stations.

Shortcake : Same here. I never rent a chair, I just bring a blanket or tarp. You can see the stage perfectly fine, especially with the big monitors that are provided, and the sound isn't a problem. What I like most about this arrangement is the flexibility to lay back on the hill and look up at the stars during the concert. After dark there's usually a light breeze, and sometimes you'll see a shooting star or an orbiting satellite.Prices for hill "seating" are also better, but even they've cranked up to ridiculous levels over the last several years.

Yes, you can see well, but get there early, to grab the best seats on the lawn. You can bring low sand chairs, but we like to bring a blanket to sit on, more comfortable, and easier to carry. No food or drink is allowed, but you can buy both, there. Put on bug spray before you go, too. It gets warm there, so wear comfy, loose clothing.

LittleTexas : How long has it been that you brought your own chairs? I thought it was rental only.

Can you believe, I went to High School in The Woodlands, and my Dad still lives there, and I've never been to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion...

its Hot in those seats; they have fans, but they are very high up, and don't add to the circulation of air. better to be out on the lawn, where you can get moving air--if there is some. bring one of those personal fans, they come in handy, or the neck cooing ones are nice, too.

Joe : I can believe that. lol. I think a lot of times we don't take advantage of our local activities. I've been in Houston since 1998 and last year was my first time to the rodeo, and that's only because my niece bought tickets as a birthday gift. I see things in LA that I'd like to do and ask myself why I didn't do it when I lived over there.

maybe it was awhile ago, as we have just brought out quilt, in the last 2 years. looks like someone else update the chair info. I like the quilt, as we can sit ,or lie down and listen to the music.

The last time I went it was probably around the year 2000. I took my young teen son to see NO Doubt. It was such a fun evening. We sat in the grass and met two gay guys who were really fun. I appreciated that they took the time to befriend us. It was a breezy night and a fun memory with my son.

My favorite memory there was 6 gal friends who have known each other since high school. We went to see a concert that included KC and the Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor ( "Oh No, Not I.." we sang, loudly and badly", and some other great artists. We sang and danced and had a blast, then spent the night at the Embassy Suites nearby, and went to brunch the next day, before heading home. Best staycation, ever.
