I saw this on Philippine national news. Houston-area Filipina nurse practitioner ordered to home detention in alleged $906 million Medicare fraud case
A nurse practitioner accused of participating in an alleged $906 million Medicare and TRICARE fraud scheme has been ordered to home detention while awaiting trial in federal court in Houston.

According to court records, she has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Prosecutors allege the scheme involved fraudulent billing for medically unnecessary wound care treatments.

Chickadee : I just don't understand how someone gets away with stealing 906 billion dollars, and no one knows it until it reaches that huge amount. There are no safe guards it looks like. There's so much fraud that was going on that. There were no safe guards anywhere. Thank goodness that person will be brought back to the US for a trial. DC. I'm just hoping they can get some of that money back somehow.
