There is a home on Trailwood Village Drive that has large rocks on the front yard. Walnut runs directly in front of it. More homeowners with properties with roads directly in front of them will have to put up a barrier for safety.
I'm not sure rocks will always help but I guess it can't hurt!
I wonder if it actually was on autopilot. Witnesses saying it was going 80-90 in a residential area. Hmmmm more to this story to come
Quickcat62 + 4 more reacted There is a lot to this; neighbors heard the driver screaming, as the car passed, before impact. My guess is that they will sue the driver And Tesla, but Tesla may stand on the fact that doing the auto-pilot is a Choice the driver made. This is so tragic, in any case. We have Teslas in the family, and NO one has ever used the auto feature. LEO will be able to tell what mode the car was in, upon impact.

This is very sad. In our neighborhood several different different times cars have hit
The driver said he was on autopilot but that does not match the video unless by some chance (tiny chance) the system could have been hacked. The news stations got their clickbait. Tesla has bigger pockets. All will come out in the wash, as they say. There are some very good videos on YouTube about the different levels of autopilot and how they function.

I'm more concerned with the rate of speed he was going through a residential neighborhood. They can sue Tesla, but auto pilot/ driver assist is a feature that people can choose to use or not. Personally, I don't like the option and never use it, but my DH has used his on occasion on the freeway.
#msg5949976SkynetAware : It had nothing to do with the driver. The car was on autopilot lol
I'm not sure what the appeal to auto driving IS. Unless you're driving across country or something like that that we used to use with cruise control. I'm def not interested in using auto pilot in city driving, just seems so unnecessary. Is it asking too much for people to actually man their own vehicles?! Lazy lol!
#msg5950020MissAmericanPie : Seems like that is still up in the air at this point. "Investigators said the driver told them an automated driving assistance system was engaged at the time of the crash. However, authorities have not confirmed whether any automated driving feature was active or whether it played a role in the collision." From your own article..
