Greentree folks… between Brook Shadow and Northpark/ West Lake Houston and Rock Springs…is there any work being done to city water mains? We have water from flushing toilets backing up into the showers in both bathrooms. Don't want to call a plumber on a Sunday if it's an area problem.

bigla : Have you been doing the wash? We have that sometimes and our handy guy said to turn on the sinks and let the water run to fill up the sewer pipe again. Sometimes it get low and can back up. Not a plumber by any means but when our toilet gurgles backwards, turning on the faucets does work!
SteveT : Thanks for the info. This is a house for a few seniors that require assistance. Laundry is being done constantly! I'll have them try what you said before I call out a plumber.

bigla : We haven't had any problems but last week we had a crew cleaning out the city sewer lines. He said there were some big obstructions and the process could cause some temporary backups. He recommended keeping our drains closed and toilet lids down.« Back to Chat
