As soon as I asked the question, I started searching the net for info. I didn't have any missed calls or texts from my Mom since she lives there. I didn't want to text her at1:30am in case she was sleeping.
So I called her this morning and she never heard a thing. She even got up at 10pm last night for the restroom.

There was no fire just a lot of smoke. My dad found the unit the smoke was coming from and made the occupant call the fire department, which came and aired out the apartment. It was a man who has Alzheimer's who probably shouldn't be living there.

These complexes need to start enforcing medical standards for their residents. It is cheaper for someone to live at a 55+ complex than an assisted living facility where they can get the medical care and assistance they need. There are many residents where my mom lives that fit this category. EMS is constantly being called and I am always worried that a situation like the grease fire will happen and residents will be put in harms way!
