Be Aware of Fake PoliceCAM ALERT: FRAUDSTERS IMPERSONATING CONSTABLE’S OFFICE DEMAND PAYMENTS BY PHONE!!Constable Mark Herman’s Office has been made aware of a troubling scam currently targeting Harris County residents.Several citizens have reported receiving phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to be representatives of the Constable’s Office. The caller informs the victim that they have active warrants and must make immediate payments over the phone—or face arrest.THIS IS A SCAM!! Constable Mark Herman and his staff will NEVER contact residents by phone to request or demand payment of any kind.In some cases, the scammers have gone as far as using the names of actual personnel from the Constable’s Office to appear legitimate. These tactics are designed to intimidate and trick law-abiding citizens.What you should do:Hang up immediately if you receive one of these calls.Do not provide personal or financial information.Report the incident to our office or your local law enforcement agency.“Our office takes these types of scams very seriously.
