You may soon see a rush to develop certain properties before new flood maps become effective, making them subject to stricter regulations. See the sudden activity on this property along West Lake Houston Parkway in the new floodway of Bens Branch,

All I can think of is this song:
They paved paradise, put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise, put up a parking lot

@BobRehak :
THANKs again for this update on land and developer ideas. Very sad that some dreams can not materialize...Best COH & MC stick to rules re flood plain and flood way. As crazy as this winter spring early summer has been no telling what storms will be like to create havoc in our area. We just had power outage for no good reason//under investigation..no wind, no rain, no storm, no sirens so entergy wth

Thanks I wonder what it will be. Obviously all that area was underwater for Harvey, wasn't it?

They better put it on stilts. I couldn't believe they put a nursing home in along there a few years back.

I wouldn't buy in any new development that is equally old or newer than Kingwood Dr. HEB.

Funny whose name keeps popping up with these flood plain developments yet he himself lived high and dry for years out of harms way even during Harvey. (Not sure if he did sell his long time relatively recently listed house (last year) or not in Kings Forest.

@eighteen : that HEB flood knocked me down....very hard to believe a new building so flooded.... and the high school... unbelievable....but look at all the rain Hawaii is getting 10 inches or more and snow on the mountain at the observatory...we may have crazy storms as this winter spring is very unusual

@icare : HEB was built on top of wetlands, though.

@icare : It just goes to show the lack of care these newer developers use.

Exactly! I noticed the name too and it does keep reappearing. I thought he lived in KW which makes it hard to understand why he would develop some of these questionable projects in KW
