Has anyone shopped the new J Jills?
I just noticed the other day that it had opened. I usually shop Chicos and Talbots but I'm looking forward to a new option in KW. I used to get their catalogs and I really liked their styles. I also like Coldwater Creek brand and order from them online.

teatime : Yes! I think they've been open since October. I've been in a few times. Nice store, and I really like their clothes.

I went in the store a couple of times. They are expensive but I tend to shop Talbots because of the large petite section. I am retired so T by Talbots is my go to. If need a dress Talbots has large selection for short people. And I shop during there majors sales and utilize my reward points.

teatime : I've only been in a couple of times and haven't seen anything that was just right. I have quite a few pieces but am very picky. Even though it can be pricey to (eg) get a whole outfit, the clothes remain to be high quality, comfortable and feminine. To tell the truth, I'm forcing myself to not buy any more clothing until I start donating the clothes I no longer wear 😊
Maybe you can try dropping in every other week in hopes you see something you really like.

Chrysanthemum : I do the same with Chicos. I find their styles to be timeless and don't make me feel frumpy like a lot of "mature" clothing does. I wore a set to a fancy wedding in the Hamptons last spring and I can't tell you how many women came up to me and asked where I purchased it. I have lost a little bit of weight since then and I am hoping that it will not be too large on me now.
I don't mind paying more when I know it is something that will be a staple in my closet.

I like some of Chico's items but they do not fit me well. The have very few short lengths and too much fabric. Talbots is a better fit for me but I have to admit that some of the parsley patterns I do not like.

I just ordered my first dress from Coldwater Creek. I have never ordered from them before so I hope I like it. I'm petite so I liked how they had a nice selection of petite dresses even though I would've preferred to try it on first but thought I'd give it a shot. If I don't like it, I'll go back to all the places I normally shop for petite clothes

I briefly browsed J Jill one time. Neither J Jill nor Chico styles seem to work for me; I am more successful at Talbots. Perhaps that is because I have shopped Talbots since they opened in Kingwood. It's good that we have more choices. I should shop all the stores more often instead of relying on Talbots.

GiggleMugs : I was thinking the same thing! I loved that store, especially before they re-did it and made the home goods area smaller. I could always find something there I liked for every occasion!

GiggleMugs :
..and Palais Royale, when they did Good sales, back in the day! When I was in college, we would drive over to the "new" mall, Greenspoint, from Huntsville, on a Wednesday after classes, to look for date outfits, etc. We 3 roomies were about the same size, and we bought So many cute dresses and outfits, to share.
