Stormy Valentine's Day

From Space City Weather

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

❤️ Well, this won't be the frigid holiday weekend that Houston experienced five years ago, that's for sure.

❤️ However, Saturday and Saturday evening do look pretty soggy across the region as a disturbance moves into the region, preceding a cold front.

❤️ Rain chances are nearly 100 percent on Valentine's Day, although most of this should fall as light to moderate rain showers.

❤️ It won't be constant, and it probably won't be severe, but if you're planning anything romantic outdoors I would definitely have some fall back plans.

❤️ Most areas will likely pick up between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain, although as usual totals will vary widely. Rains should end sometime on Saturday evening or early Sunday.

❤️ Highs will probably reach the mid-70s with lows on Saturday night in the upper 50s.

......

❤️ Severe potential (my own take on things)

➡️ Ok, so Space City is saying they don't believe it will be severe, but I think the chance is there. I'm not quite sure we'll realize sufficient instability though.

Various models show a severe potential close enough to SE Texas to where I'm keeping an eye on it.

The worst is forecasted to be to our east & northeast - including all of Louisiana.

A few chasers I follow have already planned to chase this for the tornado potential. They'll probably be east of us but I'll update on Saturday AM.

Houston is on the back edge of the area to be watched:
