We do have rain chances this week, but the totals aren't looking impressive. (Less than an inch)

I'm not even sure everyone will see rain so I don't think it will put a dent in these drought numbers.

StormChaser : Thank you. I was wondering this yesterday when I had to add water to the pool. I don't think I remember ever having to do that in January in 24 years!

I could be wrong, but it seems that we are steadily heading towards permanent drought. It's slowly been happening over the last 15 years it seems.

SpaceCat : Definitely not a "permanent drought"

If you look at the data from 2010-2019, you'll see it's pretty even.

Five Deficit Years:
➡️2010: 42.72 (-7.07)
➡️2011: 24.57 (-25.2)
➡️2012: 43.32 (-7.45)
➡️2013: 38.84 (-10.93)
➡️2014: 43.72 (-6.05)

Followed by Five Surplus Years:
➡️2015: 70.03 (+20.26)
➡️2016: 60.96 (+11.19)
➡️2017: 79.69 (+29.92)
➡️2018: 56.02 (+6.25)
➡️2019: 51.93 (+2.16)

StormChaser : I see NOAA is forecasting a warmer, drier Spring and Summer. Last years two seasons were next to perfect up until all rain stopped end of july and stayed gone almost 3 solid months.

StormChaser : When we take 103 into LA, the lakes in Texas are so low it's scary. You can see the trees and sandbars. When we get to Toledo Bend, it's low but nearly as bad as the Texas side.
